Use of Social Networks in Investigations
On the “Blogs” page on your website, post responses to the following topics:
1. Consider and explain what you believe the term “digital tattoo” means. Do you think students should be concerned that their social network pages might negatively affect job opportunities after graduation? Should the Surrey School District hire people to routinely monitor these sites to make sure students aren’t engaged in illegal activities such as underage drinking and drug use? How much pressure should we apply to people to monitor their safety settings?
2. Research online to see if any instances like this have actually occurred or if there have been any issues with social network privacy settings. Provide at least 2 links and annotate (explain what the sources say and why they’re important).
